Ms. Bates started practicing in Dallas, Texas in 1981 representing debtors in Chapter 11, 13 and 7 bankruptcy cases, as well as the representation of creditors, including lenders, during the savings and loan crisis in the 1980's. Since relocating to the Chicagoland area in 1990, Ms. Bates has continued to practice in the area of debtor-creditor relations, primarily with out of bankruptcy workouts, creditor representation in bankruptcy cases and assignment for benefit of creditors. Ms. Bates has expanded her practice areas to include corporate litigation and the representation of employers in cases before the Illinois Department of Human Rights, EEOC, state and federal courts. She is a Member of Firm's Corporate Practice and Litigation Practice.
