Biography

Mollyann “Molly” Jacoby is an Associate in the Trusts and Estates Practice Group, with experience advising individuals and families on comprehensive wealth-transfer and estate-tax planning strategies, where she works closely with a wide variety of clients, ranging from the local Wheaton family of four to high-net-worth clients with several multi-million-dollar business interests.

Molly focuses her practice on the preparation of core estate planning documents including Revocable Living Trusts and Will plans, as well as advanced planning, including sales/gifts of cash or business interests to irrevocable trusts; creation and implementation of Family Limited Partnerships; Non-Judicial Settlement Agreements, and other wealth transfer and estate-tax minimization strategies. While Molly works closely with clients on the planning side, she also is knowledgeable in Trust and Estate Administration, notably with taxable estates and the preparation of Estate Tax Returns.

Before joining Huck Bouma, Molly worked as a tax accountant for TTX Company, where she did a variety of tax compliance work. Some of this included preparing the following returns for around thirty jurisdictions: sales and use tax, state corporate income tax, real property tax, and personal property tax. Furthermore, she prepared federal corporate returns, appealed property tax assessments, and disputed tax computation which often resulted in abatement of penalties and interest.

Molly received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Accounting from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then attended the William S. Richardson School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor degree and also graduated Magna Cum Laude. There, Molly was the recipient of five distinct CALI Awards, achieved by receiving the highest grade in her law school class, for the following subjects: 1) Trust and Estates; 2) Federal Individual Tax; 3) Secured Transactions; 4) Law, Aging, and Medicine; and 5) Accounting for the Lawyer.

Molly moved to Illinois in 2021 from Hawaii, where she grew up. Molly spent most of her childhood exploring the outdoors and the beaches of the Big Island of Hawaii with her family. Now, Molly resides in Oak Park, where she gets to experience the change of the seasons and the Midwest culture.
