Biography
Diane Barnes is a paralegal in the estate planning group, although her experience covers a wide range of fields; including real estate, estate and trust administration and corporate.
Experience
Her practice includes all areas of trust funding and assisting clients complete beneficiary designations for retirement accounts. She specializes in the preparation of deeds to fund clients’ trusts with real estate; as well as the formation and funding of limited liability companies, and the funding of a wide variety of sophisticated estate planning vehicles such as irrevocable trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and grantor retained annuity trusts.
Diane began her legal career with the suburban satellite office of a large Chicago firm. During her 16 years at that firm, her areas of expertise included estate and trust administration, both residential and commercial real estate, and corporate work. She joined Huck Bouma in 2000 in an effort to further challenge herself, and to deepen her knowledge of estate planning.
Diane attended Northern Illinois University and received a bachelor’s degree in Business. Diane lives in the western suburbs with her family and enjoys bicycling and showing her dog in agility.
